About Us

Our schools have classrooms of children ages two through three and three through six. See our list of available programs to your left, click for details. The children are provided an environment where they are able to grow and learn about themselves and about their world.

In collaboration with the Wausau School District, both locations offer a tuition-free four-year-old kindergarten from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., as well as an all-day five-year-old kindergarten session from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before and after-school care is available at both locations.

Along with our full Montessori preschool classroom curriculum, we provide a variety of activities including, art, music, creative movement, field trips, and optional swimming through the YMCA (Swimming available at the Children's Village location only). Outside resource people from the community, including our great parents, are also used for sign language, foreign language, curriculum enhancement, and cultural enrichment.

We also have a classroom for children ages four months through two years. This is a lovely, sunny room, with a separate room for sleeping and an outdoor area. The children play, eat and sleep on their own schedule. There are a maximum of eight babies in this classroom. The staff is gentle, kind and nurturing.

Montessori Children's Village, Inc. is an affiliate of the American Montessori Society and is a member of the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association.
